In 2008 the NIMD programme in Bolivia has played an instrumental role in the achievement of an agreement in congress on a new constitution, which passed popular vote in January 2009.
In 2008 the NIMD programme in Mozambique has facilitated a series of debates at the provincial level. RENAMO and FRELIMO party representatives participated in two regional NIMD activities.

In the aftermath of election violence in 2008 NIMD’s Kenyan partner, the Centre for Multiparty Democracy (CMD-K) created the Building Bridges of Understanding project. It aims to promote understanding between different ethnic communities through community exchange visits and dialogue.
During a recent working visit to Zambia, NIMD and its local partner, the Zambian Centre for Inter-Party Dialogue (ZCID) jointly agreed upon a priority agenda for institutional strengthening.
